Volunteers
CMH Volunteer Program
Our volunteers are goodwill ambassadors for our hospital, patients and community. Active volunteers range in age from 18 to 90 and work in several departments of the hospital, including the gift shop, medical records, admissions, financial services and others. These volunteers consistently go above and beyond to make sure patients and visitors know they are welcome and cared for.
If you have an interest in volunteering, contact Veronica Grabill, Chaplain and Volunteer Coordinator, to set up a time to discuss our areas of need and your interests to make this experience fulfilling and enjoyable. Additionally, you can expect to complete an application (background check), sign our Volunteer Pledge and participate in any necessary training. Volunteers must be 18 years old or older.
CMH Chaplaincy Program
Clinton Memorial Hospital (CMH) also has a Volunteer Chaplaincy program. Our chaplains are all area clergy who are recognized by their denominations or certifying bodies as fit for ministry. Several of these chaplains have further training in healthcare ministry and have undergone clinical pastoral education, often through a professional program located in a hospital system. Our chaplains are here to provide spiritual care for patients, families and hospital staff. They represent CMH and do not proselytize for their churches. Our chaplaincy is based upon the best practices of pastoral care and is not evangelistic.
Anyone can initiate a visit from the chaplain: the patient, family members or hospital staff, and each unit in the hospital has a complete contact list and schedule for the chaplains. Chaplains are available day and night, 24/7.
